Dragana Šarengaća

Dragana Šarengaća is Regional Cooperation Coordinator at the Nansen Dialogue Centre Serbia based in Belgrade and also GPPAC Regional Liaison Officer for the Western Balkans. She has been engaged in peacebuilding for 20 years as part of Nansen Dialogue Network in the Western Balkans. She implements projects focused on establishing inter-ethnic dialogue and cooperation in the local communities after the breakup of Yugoslavia. Since 2007, her focus is the implementation of education for peace programmes by working with key actors in education. Educational Institutions Implement Peace Education was one such inspiring project, implemented by NDC Serbia and NDC Montenegro (2011-2013). A handbook Education for Peace-Experiences from Practice was published in 2013 (English version available online in 2016) as a result of cross-sectoral exchange of teachers and ministry of education representatives. She was co-editor and author of an article in the handbook. 

Dragana was involved in the implementation of NDC Serbia regional projects: Cross-border Intercultural Cooperation of Education Institutions from Serbia and Croatia (2017-2018) and Peace and Conflict Resolution Education in the Western Balkans (2007-2009).  As part of GPPAC cross-regional project, she facilitated the exchanges of teachers and ministry of education representatives from Serbia, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina to Ukraine (2010). She was co-editor of NDC Serbia’s handbook Peace Education for Peaceful Society (2008) and translated parts of the handbook Resolution through Dialogue (2008). Her work experience included facilitation of webinars, thematic panels, co-facilitation of conflict resolution trainings and cooperation with schools on the International Day of Peace activities. She is an English teacher by profession. Her MA studies explored inter-ethnic memories after the conflict in Croatia.
